There is so much conflicting information out there.
With all the different media outlets and political agendas, and across social media...conflicting ideas and conspiracy theories seem to be coming out of the woodwork.
Even the most intelligent people I know are peddling some of them.
It made me start to wonder…
What is really going on?
While there are a lot of people who seem to believe they're the ones with their fingers on the pulse of "what is really going on", I prefer not to make such assumptions.
I also realize not everybody has the same motivations behind choosing how to deal with this current pandemic…
For somebody like me, for example, who has three immediate family members I love in the “at-risk“ category, now more than ever I want to trust the information I am receiving.
Perhaps you’ve had some of the same questions I have. Questions like:
Can we trust the numbers and statistics we are hearing?
Should we be wearing masks, or are they more of a detriment to our health?
How far out are we, realistically, from a vaccine?
When will we be able to travel again?
Now that we are slowly reopening, what’s the best course of action for us to take moving forward?
While I was contemplating a visit with my family I reached out to a friend of mine who I know and trust, and who also happens to be an infectious disease specialist.
I asked her all the questions I had and felt incredibly relieved to have a source of unbiased information I knew I could trust.
I knew I would get the truth, uncolored by any media agenda or party affiliation.
I was so relieved and comforted by our conversation I asked her to let me interview her so I could share it.
If you’re interested in my interview with Dr. Vivian Vega, here’s a link where you can watch it on my YouTube channel.
Or, if you prefer to listen on the go, here’s a link to the podcast. You can listen to it here, or on the All Ways Evolving podcast, wherever you enjoy podcasts.
If you do check it out, let me know what you think. And if you have any questions that somehow didn’t get answered, let me know. Vivian has promised to do her best to answer all of them.
One of the things we talk about in this video is the importance of our own self-care and doing those things we know help to boost our health and immunity.
Things like yoga and meditation.
If you haven’t been taking advantage of my live stream yoga and meditation practices every week, there are a couple of new ones available here on my YouTube channel.
And as I mention in this interview, one of the most important ways we can practice self-care is to keep our minds and our thoughts positive.
Educate yourself with information, AND keep things in perspective. Living in fear has never served anyone.
Move and breathe. Every single day.
Consider limiting the amount of media and social media you consume.
Have conversations with positive, uplifting people.
Put your faith in Life, and trust in the natural order of things. Trust that the same energy that has its arms around the phases of the moon, the seasons, and the tides...has its arms around this situation, too.
As I always say, Life has a funny way of putting us exactly where it wants us.
You may also want to meditate, contemplate, or journal about the questions:
What is Life trying to show me right now? What can I learn about myself from this situation?
Because, as Vivian says here in the interview, we should "Never let a good crisis go to waste."
The journey of a lifetime is the one you take within.
Let me be your guide.
